Parenting Information

Each situation is unique. At Pregnancy Resource Center Medical Clinic, our role is to get resources into your hands in order for you to see your own situation clearly, thereby providing you with the tools, and most importantly, the hope necessary to make the best choices for you and your children. In short, we want to see all of our clients who make this choice become the best parents they can be.

The Pregnancy Resource Center Medical Clinic believes strongly in educating and equipping our clients who have decided to carry their pregnancy to term. Part of our ongoing support is our Earn While You Learn program, and is offered at no cost to our clients. Participants who attend our classes earn “baby bucks” and can shop at our Baby Boutique for item such as maternity and baby clothing, diapers, supplies, and larger items. Classes include:

It addresses the real and pressing needs that a father can experience. The topics covered range from discipline to role-modeling to spending time with the family.

Life Skills

Beyond parenting, Pregnancy Resource Center Medical Clinic offers important life skills classes with topics ranging from money management: debt and budgeting, interviewing for a job, home management and even sexual risk avoidance.

The programs listed above are part of the “Earn While You Learn” Prenatal and Parenting Program.

Frequently Asked Questions

PRC San Clemente offers a range of free pregnancy services, including free pregnancy testing, free ultrasounds, information on abortion and the abortion pill, and STD testing. We are here to provide support and information to women facing unplanned pregnancies in San Clemente and surrounding areas.

Our tests can be performed 7 to 10 days after conception. A client with a negative result may be invited to return within 2 weeks for a repeat test if she has not had her period.

If you have taken a home pregnancy test, you may want to confirm results with a laboratory-quality test at our center or mobile clinic. Our tests detect HCg levels within 7 to 10 after conception.

While walk-ins are welcome, we recommend making an appointment to ensure you receive timely service. You can easily schedule an appointment online or call us at our San Clemente or Niguel mobile clinic.

You’ll be welcomed by our receptionist who will introduce you to your client advocate.  She will listen to you judgment-free and provide you with information followed by a pregnancy test.  Should your test be positive, one of our caring medical professionals will conduct a limited ultrasound to confirm if you have a viable pregnancy and date fetal age.

Absolutely! You can bring your boyfriend, family member, or friend. We will first meet with you for the initial intake. Then, provided you have given us consent to have them in the room, your guest will be able to join you.

We adhere to a strict privacy and confidentiality policy. Clients will be protected from disclosure of information that violates the right to privacy except when required by law, required for public health reasons, required to avert a threat of harm to the client or a third person, or when other circumstances may reasonably warrant such use or disclosure without prior authorization (e.g., abuse reporting, suicide/homicide prevention, etc.).

Our professional, medical-grade lab quality pregnancy test can determine pregnancy on the first day after your first missed period. We recommend you make an appointment if you have missed a period, have any pregnancy related questions, or think you might be pregnant.

On-site ultrasounds are available after an initial intake with one of our client advocates.  Our limited ultrasound exams are performed by a licensed nurse sonographer or RDMS (registered sonographer) and reviewed by a licensed physician.  An ultrasound confirms a viable pregnancy and determines how far along you are.  To qualify for a limited ultrasound, you’ll need to be a minimum of 6 weeks from the first day of your last menstrual period.

You can still meet with a member of our staff to discuss your concerns and review available options.  An ultrasound is recommended to know if your pregnancy is viable and in your uterus, since 20% – 25% of all pregnancies end in miscarriage.  Additionally, the ultrasound will show how far along you are to determine what type of abortion you would choose.  We can provide a limited ultrasound at no cost to you.

PRC San Clemente provides comprehensive information about all your options, including detailed information on abortions and the abortion pill. Our trained staff can answer your questions and provide non-judgmental support to help you make an informed decision.
